EOJ PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS THE EVOLUTION OF JAZZ
The Evolution Of Jazz is a musical production that chronicles
the history of jazz, from its earliest documented manifestation
to its emergence as a distinctive contemporary art form. The
production traces a musical path that begins in West Africa and
winds its way to the Americas.
You will
experience the complex rhythms of West Africa, the field
hollers of Congo Square, the spirituals of Christianity,
the blues, both vocal and instrumental, stride piano and
much, much more.
For the
school system the production would run an hour and fifteen
minutes in length, with a fifteen-minute question and answer
segment.
